I’m dealing with my university today to sort out an account hold that was put in place when I missed the tuition payment deadline. (My own fault, I forgot to process the payment in time)
I called the registar’s office and, as usual, sat on hold for a few minutes. Turns out I called the wrong department (something I commonly do) and had to transfer to the Cashier’s office.
Immediately upon being transferred, I switch my phone to speaker expecting to spend a few minutes on hold.
Instead, a human voice spoke to me. My hold was removed and I ended the conversation in shock; it took less than one minute.
Not to worry, things have returned to normal; I’m presently on hold with the financial aid office.
