University of Toronto student newspaper *The Varsity *uploaded a news story overnight further updating the aftermath of March’s UToronto sit-in at Simcoe Hall.
The Varsity reports bail conditions of fourteen individuals involved. They have been banned from being on the University of Toronto campus or communicating with each other except under special conditions.
The individuals were charged following police action to remove them from Simcoe Hall.
The university claims the action was necessary because the protestors were not allowing university staff to leave their offices. The protestors are alleged to have committed the offence of forcible confinement as well as acts of mischief.
The bail conditions were imposed by the courts.
