Corporal Joy Francis of Burlington was presented with Meritorious Service Medal

Governor General David Johnston awarded 43 military decorations at Rideau Hall yesterday. Included in the recipients is a Burlington native, Corporal Joy Francis. The MSM is a decoration normally reserved for senior officers, and some senior non-commissioned. It is rarely given to non-officers, especially of such low rank as Corporal. For a Corporal to be granted such an honour reveals more than possible in the short citation attached to the award. Well done Corporal Francis.
