Durand is officially the City’s most dense neighbourhood bound by James, Queen, Main, and the Escarpment.

There have been recent concerns in the neighbourhood about new high-rise developments under construction and proposed.

A secondary plan enables the City and residents to create more specific zoning and planning policies for neighbourhood growth to address neighbourhood specific characteristics and concerns.

For example, Durand is experiencing parking challenges in certain areas, especially closer to St. Joseph’s Hospital.

If approved, staff will report on a timeline for creating a Secondary Plan.
