I had the honour of briefly meeting and knowing Cpl Paul Davis while I was in the Canadian Forces. It was the summer of 2003 and we were both in Gagetown.
We lived in the same barracks building at the time and he was one of a few soldiers who went out of their way to make me feel welcome. He was a great man.
To see the way his father was dismissed by the Conservatives disgusts me. As a country, we owe it to our fallen to make sure the mission succeeds and that cannot be seen as a partisan statement.
