Not quite a scorcher, but warm enough that outdoor pools like Birge Park’s (pictured right) are very attractive. Sadly, Hamilton city outdoor pools do not open until June 29. The Hamilton Conservation Authority’s Wildwater Works and Lakeland Pool at Confederation Park will be popular spots for swimming Sunday.
Public Health inspection of Hamilton beaches on Wednesday showed all local beaches as safe, however, the recent rainfall means the conditions may be different tomorrow and it’s not advisable to swim in Lake Ontario or Hamilton Harbour due to run-off.
This is the second unofficial hot spell this season. Unlike last year, we have yet to have an official hot spell with no day in Hamilton yet reaching the “heat advisory” level.
Last year, we’d already seen two heat advisories before June 10th.
See you at the waterfront this afternoon.
