Hamilton Fire Statistics 2009 to September 2013

As of September 30, 2013, the Hamilton Fire Department responded to 19649 calls this year. The most common call type is medical with the Fire Department responding to 13,315 times. “Alarm Conditions”, when a fire alarm is activated, is a distant second at 1568.

There have been 276 structure fire calls thus far in 2013 with 21 Multiple Alarms. Thankfully, there have been no fire fatalities this year and the number of multiple alarm calls is down significantly from last year’s above average 52 multiple alarms.

The number of hydro problem calls this year is significantly up compared to the five-year average, with major storms responsible for some of the increase. The statistics can be viewed in the graphic below or download this PDF released by the Fire Department.
