Hamilton Police looking for "armed and dangerous" man and firearm [photo]

Hamilton police are looking for an unidentified male they consider “armed and dangerous” and a suspect in the attempted murder of 47 year old Peter Williams. Williams was shot multiple times in his Emerald Street South apartment Friday morning.

Police have released a photo of the suspect and are hoping the public can help identify him.

Here’s the full police update issued at 18:35EDT tonight:

Hamilton Police Homicide Unit has charged a person in connection with the
attempt murder of a 47 year old Hamilton man.

On Friday, June 15, 2012 at approximately 8:20 a.m. Hamilton Police responded
to 70 Emerald St. South for a report of a person being shot. They found the 47
year old male resident suffering from multiple injuries. The victim underwent
surgery Friday night and is currently in stable condition in hospital.

Arrested and charged with Attempt Murder is 20 year old Anthony Fitzroy
Johnson of no fixed address.

Police are still trying to identify a second male that was with Johnson at the time
of the attack. This male’s picture is being released to the public in an appeal for
assistance in identifying him. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
No firearm has been recovered at this time. Any persons with information are
asked to contact police and not approach this person.

This attack is believed to be targeted against the victim, who knew his attackers.
The two individuals still at large should be considered armed and dangerous,
and should not be approached. Anyone with any information is asked to contact
