Hamilton Police Release Picture of Violent Offender in East End Stabbing

Hamilton Police Service issued the following release, and photo, relating to an overnight stabbing in Hamilton’s East End. The victim, a 19-year-old male, suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect – who arrived at the house party uninvited – is described by police as a “violent offender”.

Police are seeking 21-year-old Jerell DOWNEY. DOWNEY is described as 5’6” tall, 132 pounds with a medium build.

The Hamilton Police are investigating an early morning attack on a male in the city’s east end.

Shortly before 1 am Saturday morning police responded to reports of a stabbing at a Tindale Court address. It was learned that there had been a house party where three men attended, uninvited. A physical altercation ensued between the men and other guests when a 19 year old male victim was stabbed in the chest.

The suspect and two other males had fled before police arrival. The victim was transported to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Witnesses were located and as a result an arrest warrant is being issued for a 21 year old Hamilton man, Jerell DOWNEY.

DOWNEY is described as 5’6” tall, 132 pounds with a medium build.
