Hamilton Police Release Video Showing Suspect in City's 4th Homicide of 2014

Hamilton Police are seeking the public’s assistance as they attempt to identify the suspect in the City’s fourth homicide. Police released the above video this morning with the following statement:

On Friday February 28th Police investigated a double stabbing at Barton St. East and Catherine St. As a result of this stabbing Richard Doucette was the victim of the city’s fourth murder. A second female victim sustained life threatening injuries. The female has shown great strength and determination as she is now recovering out of Hospital.

Police have collected several hours of video tape from neighbouring businesses. Police are releasing a video clip in the hopes of someone in the Public can identify the Suspect in this matter. The video evidence is not of good quality but does show some characteristics and clothing of the Suspect. The Suspect is the person depicted as the person following in the video. The first person has been identified by Police.

The Suspect was also seen to be hanging around the corner of Barton St. E. and Catherine St. at around 10:00 pm on February 28th

Police are requesting assistance from the Public on this matter. Police have a brief description of a male that was observed fleeing the area around the time of this incident. He was last seen running north on Mary St. Police are hoping to identify this male to speak to him. The male is described as a Caucasian male, 5’10” to 6’ tall, 150 to 170 lbs., 30 to 35 years old, dark brown or black short hair that is neatly kept, wearing blue jeans, a light coloured shirt, and a black coat and a hat.
