The Hamilton Police Service’s Awards Night was held Monday. Detective-Constable Greg Slack and Constable Doug Hall walked away with the top awards.
D/Cst Slack won the Leonard G. Lawrence Award for his work organizing a winter clothing drive for downtown homeless people while he was a patrol member on the ACTION project. This award is decided by a panel of community members and is named after the Chief of Police from 1952 to 1973.
Cst Hull won Member of the Year for his diligence when he became suspicious about a man kissing a woman in a car on March 4, 2013. The woman was unconscious, didn’t know the man, and Constable Hall’s intervention stopped a sexual assault. The man was charged with sexual assault.
Congratulations to them both.
