One of my many sources at USSU has provided me with a report that was presented to the USSU Council a few weeks ago. The report really speaks for itself. Basically, someone either on the Executive/Staff or close to them began a smear campaign against a member of the USC. That is the solid information. Now, a few students I have spoke to that pay attention to the USSU feel that this is related to the continuing battle between pro-CFS forces and their opponents of both the anti-CFS and non-CFS factions at USSU. The USSU has been experiencing a lot of turmoil in the last couple of years because of the CFS situation there. This seems to be another front in that battle. There was an discussion at the USC meeting on November 30th. In my opinion it was uninformative but you can read the minutes if you please at: http://www.ussu.ca/pdfs/usc/minutes/2006-11-30-Minutes.pdf, it is item 4.6 which is on page 6.
There was a USC meeting last night. It will be interesting to see if anything further has become of this. The CEDC did have a report presentation on the agenda.
Also, whoever started this, Kevin James is not really a good pseudonym – be a little more creative!
This year, the USSU has been a “Gong Show” and it does not appear to be getting any better.
