Learning beats writing

(Yes, I’m grasping for a title on this.)

I’m attending a conference on aboriginal education at Wilfrid Laurier University’s Brantford campus today. Being the closest university campus to Canada’s most populated reservation, The Six Nations, I’m expecting to learn much at this conference.

One of the most interesting discussion is the divide between East and West. The context of aboriginal post-secondary issues are much different between Western Canada and Eastern Canada. (By Western Canada, I mean Northern Ontario and all points west)

Universities in the west are much more aware of aboriginal issues and have adopting policies to respond. Eastern Canada seems to be lagging on this front.
