It seems that some American colleges are investigating policy changes that will force students to disclose any mental health illness which they are ill with or have recovered from.
Arizona State is the latest university that revealed looking into making these changes.
Even if universities invade student privacy and create a database of every student with a mental health illness, what are they going to do? Punish them?
Unless they violate the law, I don’t see how a university can act against these students. Will it prevent another campus shooting? I doubt it.
Let’s not forget what blanket profiling has brought us in the past – are we proud of locking up citizens during World War II for the “crime” of being of Japanese descent?
