Provincial appointee to the Hamilton Police Services Board Madeleine Levy’s appointment is extended 30 days.
Her original three-year appointment to the Board ended Saturday.
Levy said during a phone interview Tuesday that she is happy to continue serving on the Board, reflecting on the challenging work ahead.
Levy is actively involved in many community boards, including the United Way and Hamilton Community Foundation.
Levy would not speculate on what the 30 day extension means, only saying the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services stated future announcements about the appointment would be made thought the Hamilton Police Services Board chair.”
“I have been given a 30 day extension on my appointment. Any further information about my said apppointment will be made known through the board chair,” she stated.
The current chair is Ward 3 City Councillor Bernie Morelli.
He is presently in hospital recovering from a serious illness. Morelli was elected chair three weeks ago to replace Mayor Bob Bratina who suddenly resigned from the Police Services Board in late September.
The next meeting of the Hamilton Police Services Board is scheduled for November 18th.
