No injuries in Landmark Place Apartment Fire

There were no injuries in an 16th-floor apartment fire caused extensive damage this evening at Landmark Place, Hamilton’s tallest building.

The fire broke out around 6:10pm, says Fire Department Spokesperson Bill Simpson. Numerous fire crews were called due to the intensity of heat from the apartment fire, and the hot temperatures of summer today.

The fire was quickly contained to the apartment, with some minor smoke and water damage to nearby units.

Residents were allowed back into the building after about two hours.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
