Notice to readers: less news, more study

Dear Readers,

For the next week or two, I’m going to decrease the amount of breaking news, tweeting, and open data projects I’m working on as I focus my energies onto a job application process.

If I make it to the second round – the written test – I plan to be prepared.

It’s for this reason I’m studying The Canadian Press Stylebook cover-to-cover (and am pleasantly surprised to see I haven’t strayed too far from the guidelines), writing a series of editing tests, and will be completing drafted blog posts in CP style over the next few days.

I’ll try my best to stay on top of developments in the HSR labour negotiations. My site is the top search result for news in the negotiations and a few people were asking me today about updates.

There are some major developments on the open data file in Hamilton – I’ll post about those as well.

I won’t be able to respond to news tips on Twitter and will be exiting my Tweetdeck during study periods. Same goes with my email. My phone will be turned off as well.

Wish me luck – both in getting to the second round and in handling Twitter-withdrawal symptoms.
