I am hanging out at York this morning to catch up with a high school friend since I have to be in Toronto this afternoon anyway.
I cannot believe the sheer visual pollution that is the YFS and other Student Associations elections here at York. It seems there are no limits to the number of posters or any real rules. If it is cement, or a wall, it is covered in dozens of posters. There are banners as well, which the banners are cool. I just cannot get over the posters. You have candidates that must love seeing their own faces because they put 9 posters together and plaster an area. There is no blank space that cannot fit a poster empty! No wonder students I know here are turned off by the campaign, the posters everywhere is overkill.
Also, the York arcade is not what it was three years ago when I was last here.
