Public Delegations on Proposed Flamborough School Closures [Live 6pm]

Parents and the community will have the opportunity to make their voices heard on the proposed closures of some West Flamborough elementary schools – to be replaced with new larger schools – at a special School Board meeting on April 29, 2014.

The meeting will begin at 6pm and you’ll be able to watch live here.’

School Board Trustees have a recommendation from the community Accommodation Review Committee to close Beverly Central and Dr. Seaton schools – replacing them with a new school preferably attached to the City of Hamilton’s Beverly Community Centre – and to close Greensville, Millgrove, and Spencer Valley schools – replacing them with a new school on the Spencer Valley site. In the alternative to the final recommendation, the ARC suggests keeping Millgrove open and building a smaller new school at the Spencer Valley site.

Expect many parents to voice for the alternative recommendation.

The Director of Education’s staff recommendation is similar, without the Millgrove alterative.
