70 years ago, June 6, 1944, the balance of freedom hung in the balance as over 150,000 men landed on the beaches of Normandy in France – D-Day. Offshore and overhead, the men on the beaches were supported by naval and air forces.

HMCS Haida, now docked as a museum ship in Hamilton Harbour, was in the waters off of France during the Normandy campaign. It was involved in combat with a Nazi fleet during the Battle of Ushant as part of the Normandy Invasion.

Join us live, 2pm, on Friday as we mark the anniversary alongside one of the ships that formed the largest naval invasion in human history.
