With only a few meetings at City Hall during the next few weeks, I’m going to take a bit of a break from the day-to-day coverage.

I’m looking forward to spending time on website improvements, working on the business side of my independent journalism, reading, and finishing some more feature length articles.

Basically, stuff that is best enjoyed with uninterrupted focus.

I’ll also spend much of my reading time on a hammock enjoying the sun.

How will I achieve this? My Twitter account – especially – will not be consistently monitored. In fact, I’m turning off my push alerts.

You will see articles being published on my website, you may even believe I’m increasing my workload. For me, writing is therapeutic. Edited videos will appear on my YouTube, I’ll be editing videos while playing my XBox.

Mid-August, I’ll take a few days outside of Hamilton.

My idea of a break is confusing, I know. I’m just that way. BTW, the photo – that’s the last time I really took an offline break, only because the flight was 16.5 hours and there was no internet.
