Tomorrow marks the 60th anniversary of Victory in Japan. I have had the honour of meeting a veteran of Hong Kong. There were many more battles and threatres in the Pacific than just Hong Kong. The Canadians that served in the Pacific suffered greatly especially the men in Hong Kong. I still cannot forget the pain I saw in the veteran from Hong Kong when he was telling his story. I will never forget that and I will never forget the veterans of WWII.
In Winnipeg, they had an infantry unit in Hong Kong and one in Dieppe. Those were the two most bloody battles of WWII for Canada.
