The Hamilton Public Library’s new “Digital Media Lab” spaces at the Red Hill and Terryberry libraries are a great example of libraries continuing to be information commons and with increasing focus upon providing access to digital media tools.Have some old VHS tapes you want to digitize? You can do that.
Want to create a short film? You can do that do.
Aspire to be a recording artist? Give it a try.
Want to digital record some beats? That’s included.
Personally, I can’t wait to book some studio time in front of the green screen. The labs are open during regular library hours, and users can book an appointment to get assistance with equipment.
The only requirement is to be age 14 or older, with a library card in good standing. Appointments are booked a week in advance.
The only question remaining, who will be the first Jedi?
