Microsoft Anti-Spyware turning a blind eye to Claria (aka GATOR)?

eWEEK says that a week after acquisition talks between Microsoft and spyware company Claria (nee Gator) were first reported, Microsoft’s has downgraded Claria’s software in its own Windows Anti-Spyware. When the program detects spyware from Claria such as Dashbar, Gator, and GAIN, it now recommends that it be ignored rather than removed or quarantined. According to Sunbeltblog (the corporate blog of Sunbelt Software, which sells its own anti-spyware product), the downgrade came with the March 31 update of the Windows Anti-Spyware database.
