Downtown was alive with young people when I walked in Gore Park around 11 p.m. Saturday night. It wasn’t a concert or some official special event, a group of young people had gathered to play Pokemon.

I counted approximately 75 people in the park, many of who were using the street patio furniture to gather and chat.
I gave proper distance and respect to the Cenotaph, a couple where viewing and reading the displays in Veteran’s Place, and I noted a few picking up litter.
This Pokemon thing is great to see. (Yes, data collection and all that other jazz which is why I don’t play)

I’d have to go back in my memory to the late 80s/early 90s when Olivers Pub was in the basement of the building housing the thrift store and I was waiting for an Upper Ottawa bus to remember a non-special event Saturday evening with that many people in Gore Park. (As a bonus, none of them were drunk or rowdy.)
