Ten years ago, Ronald Crawford was stabbed to death in the Mr. Sub on Concession Street near Upper Sherman. Crawford died protecting a friend, his boss. It was a crime that shocked our community and one I can’t help but remember every time I enter that sub shop.
I was there a couple of weeks ago and thought about how the case had gone cold. It seemed it wouldn’t be solved.
This week, Hamilton police announced an arrest in the case. They believe they’ve caught the getaway driver and he is charged with being an accessory after the fact of murder and robbery.
They do not yet have the murder. If they do in fact have the getaway driver – and this needs to be proven yet in the courts – then there’s a good chance they have a lead on the murder. Let’s hope they catch him.
