Again today, the Sil publishes the following quote:
“The Silhouette is the biggest (and we like to think the best) student newspaper in Canada”
It is not!
Not even close!
The only thing that is the biggest in is the size of the Editor-in-Chief’s salary and the number of paid staff.
It has the least number of volunteers of any medium-sized campus newspaper in Canada.
It is controlled by its Student Union (one of only a few students newspapers in the country that is not independent) and the Editor-in-Chief was hired in a large part because he was a campaign manager for the current MSU President.
