I agree with the concerns expressed by lawyers and civil rights “activists” but this is clearly controlled by the Police Services Board has they approve each checkpoint in advance. Frankly, the last points are the strongest, Police have finite budgets and if public-interest money is used to increase the number of RIDE checkpoints that is great. The more drunk-drivers caught and taken off the road the better.
